Buying cheap ticket for purpose of travel depends on several different factors. The first obvious factor for buying a cheap ticket or airfare is booking in advance of the travel time. However, lots of people like me will wait until the last minutes of their intended travel time, or a week to do so. Most people won’t realize that searching for a ticket or airfare will influence the result for finding cheap tickets, and of course, the expenses as well. Ok, let’s start; let’s imagine you are traveling from Chicago to Houston. It’s always the best to include the destination city of travel in the search engine. Don’t try to use the words like “cheap”, “discount” too much because most of the websites are optimized to be in the first page of the search engine although they might not be the cheapest! Here is some hint of the words you can use: last minute travel ticket (airfare), last minute travel (ticket, airfare) deals, special airfare (airfare ticket) for Houston, special deal for Houston ticket, and so on. Your destination will definitely affect your search. For popular cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, San Francisco you might find good and cheap Travel deals for one-way travel by purchasing tickets directly from the airline’s website, but in most cases because the departure time of travel is close to weekend or if a two way ticket is purchased, the price difference of ticket will be even higher than purchasing from travel portal sites. If your schedule is pretty flexible, try to choose your ticket’s departure or arrivals dates on the week days. The best departure date of travel that I recommend is Monday. And for return, try to choose Thursday. There is no guarantee that this will have a 100% effect on getting tickets cheaper or finding discounts on airfares, but it’s definitely worth trying! The other factor is the time of travel during the day. Of course, as we know it’s always better to choose “anytime” for both departure and arrival when booking a ticket online. There are some discounts available for students, so students can use key words like student discount airfare, students ticket specials, student travel specials…if you are flying internationally, please be careful that there is enough time between your flights (if there are stops). My uncle recently missed his flight from Chicago to Houston because he came from Paris, and he waited two hours to have his password checked and missed his second flight to Houston! This is due to the fact that search engines don’t care about this when they are searching for tickets of different airlines. Another important factor is the high season. High season doesn’t necessary mean summer or Christ mass time; it can be Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day. If you did not book your ticket in advance, I recommend you to purchase in the last minute for last minute deals sometimes as late as 2 days prior to your trip line, nut remember you could have the risk of not getting any flight.
